Abstract

Roughness of a machined surface should be as par the customer requirement to suite a particular application. For achieving the desired surface finish, appropriate values of cutting velocity, feed and depth of cut are to set, and these can be found out utilizing an optimization technique. In this study, the machining process is executed on AA6061 aluminium alloy by appling cutting fluid in a CNC milling machine and then roughness of surface and hardness are measured by a surface roughness tester and Brinell hardness tester respectively.
